The members of the research and teaching unit „Diversity Education and International Educational Research“ congratulate Anita Seguna on the completing her doctoral dissertation!

In her thesis, Anita Seguna investigated internationalisation – as a process that integrates a global perspective into the schools’ development – in secondary schools in Malta. The theoretical framework of this research is embedded within the theories of internationalisation and the theories of school development. In her dissertation, Anita Seguna addressed the following questions: In which ways do Maltese secondary schools perceive internationalisation? How is internationalisation embedded in the development of Maltese individual schools? How do characteristics of the Maltese system of education shape the internationalisation of schools in Malta? How does the analysis of this Maltese case contribute to the development of the theory of internationalisation of schools?
The results are relevant both for research and practice purposes. The dissertation contributes to the further development of the theories of internationalisation in higher and school education and provides empirical data on internationalisation in school education in Malta.
The publication of the dissertation is in progress.
