Time: 09:00 – 18:00
Venue: Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Campus Regensburger Straße

The project-related conference “International Education in South Caucasus and Central Asia: Comparative Perspectives” is part of the project “The Network on International Education in South Caucasus and Central Asia at the Intersection of Educational Spaces (NIE-SCCA-EdSp)”, hosted by the Chair of Diversity Education and International Education Research at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg (FAU). The project seeks to foster university cooperation and intercultural dialogue between Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (KazNPU), Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU), Fergana State University (FSU) and Kyrgyz National University (KNU) in the field of international education. It is funded by the DAAD with support from the German Federal Foreign Office under the programme “Higher Education Dialogue with the Muslim World.”
The conference is dedicated to recent developments in the field of international education in Central Asia and the South Caucasus from a comparative perspective. This focus includes exploring connections to the European educational space. Presentations will discuss research outcomes that map international education across four key sectors: higher education, primary and secondary schooling, non-formal education and youth work, and diaspora and transnational communities in the region. Furthermore, the conference provides a forum for reflecting on current challenges, discussing emerging research, and facilitating networking for researchers and practitioners interested in the internationalization of education across the region.
