Anatoli Rakhkochkine is Professor (Chair) of Diversity Education and International Educational Research at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology. Prior to this position he was Professor of Intercultural and International Comparative Education at the University of Leipzig (2011-2016). He studied Linguistics and Education at the Novgorod State University, Russia (diploma degree) and Education at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. He received the degree of “Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences” (a post-graduate diploma in education) from the Novgorod State University (Russia) in 2000. In 2002 he completed his doctoral dissertation in educational studies and received the degree of Dr. phil. (PhD) from the University of Bielefeld (Germany). In his professional career Anatoli Rakhkochkine has been engaged in various research and teaching activities and projects as teacher assistant, secondary school teacher, lecturer, and researcher. Inter alia, he was a research fellow and lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Bielefeld (2003-2004), a research fellow and lecturer at the Institute of Education, University of Hildesheim (2005-2007), a deputy professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Leipzig (winter term 2007/2008), junior professor of education (diversity and teaching) at the University of Hildesheim (2008-2011). He has taught as guest lecturer and visiting professor aboard (inter alia University of Latvia, University of Malta, Tel Aviv University, University of Vienna).
